Lorraine Viau embarked on her legal career as an Administrative Clerk at the Provincial Offences Centre in Cochrane, starting as a placement student and summer intern. This formative experience ignited her passion for law and solidified her commitment to pursuing a future in this dynamic field.

After completing her studies at College Boréal,
Lorraine graduated from the Paralegal Program in 2005 and quickly joined a small law firm in Northern Ontario as a Paralegal. There, she honed her skills and gained invaluable experience. In 2006, she was appointed as the Municipal Prosecutor for Provincial Offences in the North-East region by the Town of Cochrane, further expanding her expertise in the legal landscape.
In 2008,
Lorraine obtained her licence from the Law Society of Ontario in accordance with new provincial regulations. By January 2010, she transitioned to The Northern Defender Paralegal Professional Corporation, specializing in traffic law, commercial vehicle compliance, and Provincial Offences matters.
